Affirmation: August 9th

Busy is not my purpose.

Some days it strikes me just how much we all carry. Life has so many moving parts, and even when our hands are full, we somehow manage to add more. It’s a constant balancing act between responsibilities, relationships, and everything in between.

I’m thankful to be in a season where my life is full of things I love. Exploring creative outlets. Focusing on my well-being. Spending time with wonderful people. Even when it’s busy and exhausting, I hold on to that gratitude, especially in uncertain times.

But I’ve also learned that gratitude doesn’t mean going full speed without pause. We need to slow down. We need to restore our energy so we can keep showing up with purpose. Today I’ll be catching up on a few things that didn’t get finished this week, but I’m also making space to rest. To sit still. To let my body and mind recharge.

This week I was reminded of a sticker we sell from an amazing artist and human. It simply says, Busy is not your purpose. I watched people’s reactions to it. Some laughed and bought it for the reminder. Some admitted it hit too close to home. Others paused and let the words settle in before deciding to take it with them.

Wherever you are today, I hope you let it settle in too. Busy is not your purpose.
