I begin today with open eyes and a grateful heart.
As I, half awake, stumble out the door with our wide-awake fur children, I’m greeted by a beautiful morning. There’s a sense of calm and clarity in the air. The dew is fresh, the temperature just right. The sun is shining, the sky a clear blue, and a light fog rests over the blueberry field. What a gift this morning is.
The saying that every day is a gift might feel tired and overused, but it rings true again and again. I want to hold onto that thought today. The simple beauty I noticed this morning is how I want to move through the rest of the day: open to light, to kindness, to life unfolding in small and quiet ways.
So maybe today, we slow down enough to see it. To feel it. To let the simple things remind us of the bigger picture.
