Trust the Rise

I’ve been learning a lot through movement lately. Not just in how my body feels, but in how I experience myself—how I stand, how I carry tension, how I soften into presence. It’s inviting me to notice the little things I used to ignore. The way my knees lock when I stand too long. The slouch in my back. The way I fall into my arches instead of letting the natural rise of my foot hold me up. Now, I adjust. I meet those moments with a bit more awareness and a lot more grace.

There’s something honest that happens in the push, whether it’s finishing a workout or moving through a hard season in life. It’s easy to stay in what’s familiar, to do just enough and call it growth. But the push shows you who you really are. That extra breath. That final rep. That uncomfortable truth you finally say out loud. That’s where we learn what we’re made of. And it’s not about being perfect. It’s about showing up anyway.

I used to feel more stable when I looked down, especially while walking or running. But now I see the life lesson in that habit. I was watching my feet to feel safe instead of trusting the path ahead. And while it might feel comforting to keep my eyes low, I know now I’m meant to lift my head. To look forward. To believe in the version of me I haven’t fully met yet.

So here’s what I’m carrying with me: head up, shoulders back, gaze forward. Let your steps rise naturally beneath you. Trust the rise.
